Dear friends,
As another busy year draws to a close, we thank you for your steadfast devotion to educating boys around the globe. We hope each issue of The Compass improves your efforts and sparks creativity and caring. In addition to the resources you'll find below, IBSC recently teamed with NAIS and NCGS for a webinar on supporting transgender students in our schools. Watch for more information on this developing topic next year. Also, IBSC starts the new year with a new address in La Jolla, California, United States, as well as new banking information (find details below).
Safe and joyful wishes to our friends worldwide who go on break soon. Best of luck to everyone in 2017!
Sincerely,
David M. Armstrong Executive Director, IBSC | |

| | Research Report: Relational Teaching with Primary and Junior Boys
In November, IBSC published a new research report available exclusively to member schools and the communities they serve. Based on research conducted at diverse schools in three different countries led by Michael Reichert and a team of experts, Relational Teaching with Primary and Junior Boys identifies the features of successful relational strategies employed by teachers. The teacher-student relationship is a necessary condition for successfully engaging boys in learning – the research on adolescent and younger boys proves it. Find out what works for teachers, students, and parents, as well as factors to avoid that can lead to breakdowns. Download the report now.
