Raising Boys to be Good Men: An evening with Celia Lashlie
Monday, November 22, 2010
Hosted by: Crescent School, Toronto, Ontario

In a world where trouble beckons at every turn how do we raise boys to men? How do we make sure they learn the right lessons, stay out of danger, find a path to follow? How do we ensure they’ll be OK? These are the questions that were addressed by Celia Lashlie, author of the best-selling He’ll be OK: Raising Gorgeous Boys into Good Men, and a legend in New Zealand and Australia. Celia worked on the Good Man Project with 25 boys schools throughout New Zealand, aimed at creating a working definition of what makes a good man in the 21st century. The result was a significant insight into the minds of teenage boys and what they are feeling in this period of their lives. With humour and warmth, and a “tell it as it is” frankness, Celia shared grounded and sometimes provocative advice to mothers and fathers about their different roles in their son’s lives on the bridge to manhood.
