The purpose of this service is to help IBSC schools interested in visits or exchanges identify and communicate with other member schools to arrange visits and exchanges. There are an almost countless number of variations such programs can include. A form long enough to solicit all relevant information would be endless. Thus, it is hoped that the information requested from schools and listed on this site will provide a good starting place for schools wishing to explore these programs. Although IBSC is happy to be as helpful as possible, it is not able to assist formally with arrangements between schools or provide legal advice regarding visa and other matters.
A short (several days to several weeks) visit by a faculty/staff member to another IBSC member school to observe how a different school functions on a day-to-day basis and/or study particular programs and/or aspects of the host school. Such a visit might include the visitor’s offering a service to the host school such as a presentation at a faculty meeting, providing consultation about or temporary assistance with a particular program, or other arrangements that could be discussed prior to the visit.
A simultaneous or sequential exchange of faculty between two IBSC member schools for an academic term or year. The viability of such exchanges will be determined by visa requirements of the countries involved and the ability of the two schools to work out economic arrangements satisfactory for all involved. It is also possible that schools might wish to arrange for a non-simultaneous exchange where faculty member X from School A would go to School B for a term or year (perhaps to fill in for someone on sabbatical or professional service leave) and faculty member Y from School B would go to School A during a subsequent term or year.
A short (one to several weeks) visit by one or several students to another IBSC member school for the purpose of experiencing life in a different school setting or country.
Enrolment by one or several students for an academic term or academic year at another IBSC member school.
A visit by group of students (such as an athletic team, drama/music group, community service organization) to another IBSC member school to participate in a particular program, offer a performance, or engage in athletic competition.
A "GAP" program in which a recent graduate from a member school would spend a term or academic year at another member school and assume responsibilities in the host school.
If you are interested in participating in one of the activities listed above as a SENDING school and/or as a HOST school, please click here to complete the information form. We will list your school as requested.
