Executive Director Search
Colleagues and friends,
Greetings on behalf of the International Boys’ Schools Coalition. I hope that you, your school communities, and your families are healthy, safe, and thriving. I am writing to update you on our search for a new executive director.
As you know, David Armstrong retired from the position in June 2021, after six years of exemplary service. Under the outstanding leadership of Interim Executive Director Amy Ahart, and in collaboration with the staff in the home office, our coalition continues to thrive. Our membership remains strong. Our menu of programming and professional development continues to serve members in new and different ways. The reviews of the 2021 IBSC Virtual Conference remind us of the strength of our community and the bonds that we share, especially in challenging times. I am extraordinarily grateful to Amy and the rest of the team for their dedication and service.
We have begun our search for the next executive director. We seek a talented leader who will serve as a champion for boys, for boys’ schools, and for all of us committed to boys’ education. Assisted by Rick Melvoin and Vance Wilson, former chairs of the IBSC Board of Trustees, the board will review applications with a goal of an appointment no later than January 2023. Please share this announcement with anyone who might be interested and please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
I hope to see you at the IBSC Annual Conference at St. Mark’s School of Texas in Dallas, if not sooner. Best wishes to you and your communities as 2021 draws to a close.
All the best,
Chair, IBSC Board of Trustees
Headmaster, The Boys’ Latin School of Maryland (United States)
