IBSC membership connects you with dynamic professionals around the globe who share a commitment and passion for advancing schools and the learning experiences of boys. Membership Types

Full Member

A fully qualified member enjoys all the rights and privileges of IBSC membership as defined in the by-laws and can serve on the board. According to the by-laws, full membership is open to schools that are primarily for boys and have primary and/or secondary school classes.

Founding Member

Full members may opt-in to this special category. In addition to enjoying all the benefits of full membership, founding members earn prominent billing on a dedicated IBSC web page and each year receive an invitation to an exclusive virtual conversation focused on boys’ schools.

Associate Member

Associate membership is open to coeducational schools seeking to collaborate with IBSC to advance boys’ education. Associate members gain all the privileges of membership except the opportunity to vote at the annual business meeting and serve on the board.

Provisional Member

Provisional membership is open to new boys’ schools that charge tuition. Provisional members gain all the privileges of membership except the opportunity to vote at the annual business meeting and serve on the board. Provisional membership is available to new schools for up to three years as they become fully established.

Individual Member

Individual membership is open to individuals seeking to collaborate with IBSC to advance boys’ education. Designed for individuals not associated with or employed by schools (or organizations interested in education), such as researchers, scholars, or individuals interested in boys’ education, individual members gain all the privileges of membership except the opportunity to vote at the annual business meeting and serve on the board.

Corporate Member

Corporate membership is open to corporations, associations, or organizations other than schools that are interested in boys’ education. Corporate members have access to specific benefits listed below.

Annual Membership Dues 2024-25

Full members and associate membership fees are calculated as follows:

Full Member Fees
  • Independent schools in the United States: US$15.50 per student enrolled, with a maximum total fee of US$8,268
  • Independent schools in North America (non-U.S.), Australasia, and UK/Europe and parochial schools in the United States: US$15.50 per student enrolled, with a maximum total fee of US$3,858
  • Independent schools in Africa and Asia and parochial schools in Australasia: US$15.50 per student enrolled, with a maximum total fee of US$1,654
  • Public/government/charter/tuition-free schools: US$450
  • Minimum dues: US$450

US$1,000 annually for public, government, charter, and tuition-free schools

Associate Member Fees
  • Independent schools in the United States: US$15.50 per boy enrolled, with a maximum of $8,268
  • Independent schools in North America (non-U.S.), Australasia, UK/Europe, and parochial schools in the United States: US$15.50 per student enrolled, with a maximum of US$3,858
  • Independent schools in Africa and Asia and parochial schools in Australasia: US$15.50 per student enrolled, with a maximum of US$1,654
  • Public, government, charter, and tuition-free schools: US$450
  • Minimum dues: US$450
Provisional Member Fees for Newly Formed Independent Schools
  • First year: 25% of current-year IBSC member fees
  • Second year: 50% of current-year IBSC member fees
  • Third year: Full current-year IBSC member fees

Corporate Membership

The annual fee for corporate members is US$1,590, which includes these important benefits.

  • Presence on the IBSC website, including logo, link to company site, and company description on the IBSC corporate member page (12 months);
  • One complimentary direct-mail list (not email);
  • Access to the IBSC proud member logo to use on your website or in publications;
  • IBSC member discount on conference registrations;
  • PDF of the IBSC Member Directory sent to you in September, to be used for information purposes only and not for solicitation; and
  • Two individual, online IBSC memberships offering access to cutting-edge IBSC members-only research and information on the IBSC website.
