Dear friends, Welcome to the inaugural edition of The Compass, the quarterly newsletter of the International Boys' Schools Coalition. As together we champion boys' education worldwide, we hope the tools and resources below will guide you on the journey to discover best learning practices to unlock the potential of every boy. Please send us comments or suggestions for resources at ibsc@theibsc.org so we can innovate and improve The Compass. For those traveling to Vancouver next week for the 2016 IBSC Annual Conference at St. George's School, we look forward to gathering together to celebrate boys' education.

| | Research Report: Mastery Practice in Teaching Boys
In April, IBSC published a new research report available exclusively to member schools and the communities they serve. Mastery Practice in Teaching Boys details research from three different countries and educational systems conducted with teachers identified for their exemplary expertise in teaching boys. We sought to discover what it is - in every part of their practice - that distinguishes master teachers' performance from that of teachers who have not yet reached this level of achievement. Woven throughout the report, you'll find abundant and rich commentaries about what these master teachers told us are the specific challenges and opportunities for teaching boys. Plus, infographics examining the data offer you quick reference to complex topics.
