The Compass June 2020 Dear friends,
Amid the turmoil engulfing our world right now, we hope you continue to live your school missions to serve all boys to create a more equitable future. Here in the United States, our communities cry out in pain at recent injustices and longstanding, entrenched inequality. As educators, we can and must effect positive change. We stand, sit, lie down, and kneel in unity with people of all colors, backgrounds, genders, orientations, faiths, and origins now—and always.
The past few months have given us immense opportunities to build resilience and fortify our commitment to justice. As we continue to embrace change and challenge, please know that the health, safety, and emotional well-being of all of you, the boys you serve, and your families remain at the top of our thoughts and deep in our hearts.
Your dedication to nurturing and leading boys continues to inspire all of us. We will grow stronger together.
Yours sincerely,

Mastery Practice in Teaching Boys Welcome, New Members! Hereworth School St. Bernard's College Rosmini College Rebecca Thompson Member Story: Crescent Keeps Students Engaged and Connected Virtually When Crescent School (Canada) had to close its campus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it launched its new Virtual Learning Program (VLP). With three guiding principles—continuity, flexibility, and community—Crescent's VLP uses a combination of synchronous learning, independent study, "office hours" for extra help, and one-on-one consultations with teachers. A variety of technology platforms and tools keep students engaged with curriculum and connected with peers. It is intentionally designed to evolve to reflect the needs of Crescent students, parents, and faculty. Learn more.
