Join Matthew Esterman, who has spent over 15 years in classrooms, school leadership, and consulting, as he leverages this experience to answer a practical question: Where can AI genuinely lighten a teacher's workload without cutting corners on judgment? He focuses on lesson planning, feedback, marking, communication, differentiation, and assessment, looking not for flashy automation but for deliberate, low-risk redesign of the tasks that take up a teacher's day.
Esterman shares curated resources for each of these areas and grounds the discussion in a boys' context, including recent research on boys and well-being and AI, particularly the finding that boys are just as likely as girls to bring deep, personal questions to these tools. Gain practical ideas and resources you can take back to your school, not just another generic take on AI in education.

The interactive session hosted on Zoom includes a 45-minute presentation, followed by 15 minutes for Q&A.

Group Screening Access for IBSC Members
Interested in using this session for professional development? IBSC member schools can access the recording for group screenings at a discounted rate. Access to the recording is available for 21 days starting October 26, 2026. Contact Bruce Collins at collins@theibsc.org for more details.
IBSC member rate: US$1,500
To register for group access, choose the group screening rate option on the registration form. The group screening option includes the recording of the presentation and the Q&A. This option does not include access to the live event. One person will have access to the recording to screen it for colleagues at their member school.
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend, you must cancel your registration in writing by emailing IBSC@theibsc.org by October 8, 2026. IBSC will refund 90% of registration fees if a written request is received via email by this date. No refunds will be made for cancellations received after this date. Schools seeking to register an alternate to replace a participant unable to attend should contact IBSC@theibsc.org.

Participation certificates: Participants present for the live online session will receive a certificate of participation within two weeks of the event.

Presenter
Matthew Esterman
Matthew Esterman has worked in education for over 15 years, with experience as a teacher, school leader, presenter, writer, and consultant. He holds postgraduate degrees from Macquarie University and the University of Sydney, and is the recipient of several awards, including the Commonwealth Bank Teaching Fellowship for 2023, supported by Australian Schools Plus.
An alumnus St. Augustine's College (Australia), Esterman has worked with more IBSC member schools, including The King's School (Australia) in Sydney, and taught at Trinity Grammar School (Australia).
Esterman has a strong interest in building valuable partnerships with external organizations, including universities, industry partners, and charitable organizations, and in seeking out and adopting innovative approaches to the school experience. He has explored many areas of school and work, including eSports, entrepreneurship, partner projects, school design, and professional learning.
Esterman is a fresh thinker in the strategic and practical use of AI in schools, exploring the potential and pitfalls of various tools and platforms. He is a keen lifelong learner who believes we can bend the future using creativity, critical thinking, and compassion..
