Director of Lower School Faith Hunter and members of the lower school faculty at The Buckley School (United States) offer an insightful online session exploring their proven philosophy for engaging younger boys. Following the 45-minute presentation, engage in interactive Q&A.

The interactive session hosted on Zoom includes a 45-minute presentation, followed by 15 minutes for Q&A.

Interested in using this session for professional development? IBSC member schools can access the recording for group screenings at a discounted rate. Access to the recording is available for 21 days starting December 11. Contact Bruce Collins at collins@theibsc.org for more details.

  • IBSC member rate: US$1,500

To register for group access, choose the group screening rate option on the registration form. The group screening option includes the recording of the presentation and the Q&A. This option does not include access to the live event. One person will have access to the recording to screen it for colleagues at their member school.

Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend, you must cancel your registration in writing by emailing IBSC@theibsc.org by November 25, 2025. IBSC will refund 90% of registration fees if a written request is received via email by this date. No refunds will be made for cancellations received after this date. Schools seeking to register an alternate to replace a participant unable to attend should contact IBSC@theibsc.org.

Presenters

Representing The Buckley School’s Lower School division, this team of educators brings deep expertise, creativity, and a shared commitment to supporting boys as learners and leaders. Together they design and facilitate instructional practices that honor each boy’s individuality, promote academic excellence, and cultivate a joyful love of learning.

Faith HunterFaith Hunter

Faith Hunter is the director of the lower school at The Buckley School, where she dedicates herself to helping boys find joy in learning and satisfaction in the pursuit of excellence. With over 25 years of experience in elementary education, Hunter has held such leadership roles as lower school principal at the Little Red School House, assistant principal at Ethical Culture Fieldston School, and director of education at The Philosophy Day School. She has also taught at every grade level in the lower school, applying her deep expertise in curriculum, research-based pedagogy, and student development.

Hunter earns high praise from colleagues past and present for her enthusiastic and steadfast leadership, as well as for her warmth and thoughtfulness. She is known for bringing a school’s mission to life and cultivating a supportive, innovative, and nurturing learning environment in which students can thrive. Hunter is a visionary, a gifted communicator, and a values-based educator who inspires colleagues, parents, and students alike as she unites them around a shared purpose.


 

Dinah HerrityDinah Herrity

Dinah Herrity is a first grade teacher at The Buckley School, where she has been teaching for 12 years. With more than 20 years of experience in elementary education, she is dedicated to creating a nurturing and academically rigorous classroom community. Herrity brings deep expertise in differentiated literacy instruction, social-emotional learning, and the development of engaging, hands-on social studies curriculum for boys.

As both a teacher and a parent of twin boys, Herrity recognizes the importance of fostering strong relationships with her students while honoring and celebrating each child’s individuality and unique strengths. She strives to infuse each day with movement, active exploration, and joyful learning.

Before joining Buckley, Herrity taught at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School and has worked with students ranging from nursery threes through second grade. She holds a master of arts in early childhood education from Hunter College and a bachelor of arts in history and education from Bates College.


 

Catherine RothsteinCatherine Rothstein

Catherine Rothstein is the assistant director of student support and lead class IV teacher at The Buckley School, where she has been teaching since 2022. With eight years of experience in elementary and middle school education, Rothstein is committed to supporting all learners with instructional practices grounded in executive function and processing routines. Before joining Buckley, Rothstein served as the interim assistant principal, Humanities Department chair, and literacy specialist at East Harlem Scholars Academy. Rothstein firmly believes in the potential of each boy and that with the right support in place, every boy can use their knowledge of self to pursue academic excellence.

   


 

Brandon LazarcheckBrandon Lazarcheck

Brandon Lazarcheck serves as the lower school math coordinator (beginners–class IV) at The Buckley School. This is his third year in the role and his eighth year in math leadership in New York City independent schools. Before specializing in mathematics teaching and learning, Lazarcheck taught first and second grade as a homeroom teacher.

As lower school math coordinator, Lazarcheck ensures that all boys have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential as mathematicians. He brings extensive experience in designing learner-centered, standards-based curriculum and in supporting teachers to facilitate daily differentiated math instruction that both challenges and supports every student.

Lazarcheck is dedicated to helping Buckley boys see themselves as capable, confident mathematicians equipped to tackle challenges and experience the joy of mathematical discovery. He holds a master of arts in literacy education from Teachers College, Columbia University and a bachelor of science in elementary education from Skidmore College.
