Format

The interactive session hosted on Zoom includes a 40-minute presentation, followed by 20 minutes for Q&A, reflection, and online collaboration.

Registration

Available exclusively to the first 90 members who register. Registration closes at 3:00 PM EDT on August 19, or when it reaches capacity, whichever occurs first.

  • IBSC member rate for 1 – 3 people from the same school: US$135 per person

  • IBSC member rate for 4+ people from the same school: US$120 per person

  • IBSC nonmember rate: US$175 per person

Group Screening Access for IBSC Members

Interested in using this session for professional development? IBSC member schools can access the recording for group screenings at a discounted rate. Access to the recording is available from August 21, lasting for 21 days. Contact Bruce Collins at collins@theibsc.org for more details.

  • IBSC member rate: US$1,500

To register for group access, choose the group screening rate option on the registration form. The group screening option includes the recording of the presentation and the Q&A. This option does not include access to the live event. One person will have access to the recording to screen it for colleagues at their member school.

Refund Policy 
IBSC will refund 90% of registration fees if a written request is received by August 5, 2025. No refunds will be made for cancellations received after this time. Schools seeking to register an alternate to replace a participant unable to attend should contact IBSC@theibsc.org.

Participation certificates: Participants present for the live online session will receive a certificate of participation within two weeks of the event.

Presenter

Matt Englar-CarlsonMatt Englar-Carlson

Professor Matt Englar-Carlson serves as department chair in counseling at California State University, Fullerton, where he also directs the Center for Boys and Men. A core author of the APA Guidelines for Psychological Practice with Boys and Men, he cocreated the Positive Psychology Positive Masculinities model to foster strengths-based, healthy masculinities in schools and community settings. His books include In the Room with Men: A Casebook of Therapeutic Change, Counseling Troubled Boys: A Guidebook for Professionals, Beyond the 50-Minute Hour: Therapists Involved in Meaningful Social Action, A Counselor’s Guide to Working with Men, and the upcoming Listening to the Voices of Men in Therapy and the Therapists Who Work with Them. Englar-Carlson is a member of the APA Task Force for Boys in School and the clinical advisor for the men’s mental health app Mental. He serves on Movember’s Global Men’s Health Advisory Committee and the advisory board for the Positive Masculinity Foundation. His work emphasizing healthy boyhood impacts education in schools and community settings. Englar-Carlson has worked children, adults, and families in school, community, and university mental health settings.
