IBSC Educators as Authentic Role Models in Boys' Schools

Educators as Authentic Role Models in Boys' Schools

An IBSC Online Program

September 14, 2026

Sean Harvey has spent 25 years working across systems least likely to ask for help: police, defense, construction, first responders, Wall Street, energy utilities, and corporate tech. Join him as he brings that experience directly to the boys' schools context, posing a question simpler to ask than to answer: What are boys actually learning from the culture around them? His answer challenges educators to examine not what they intend to model but what they are modeling—and what it honestly takes to close that gap.

Attend this interactive session online to.

  • Understand how school culture shapes boys' behavior, values, and self-concept, often independently of formal curriculum or stated school values.

  • Explore what authentic role modeling actually requires, using a practical and human-centered framework.

  • Examine the educator dispositions that change the dynamic in a room.

  • Identify the conversations that faculties are not yet having and consider how to begin them.

  • Develop a clearer picture of what it looks like when educators and school culture work together to create conditions where boys can thrive.

Who Should Attend?

School leaders and educators at all levels in boys’ schools who want to examine their own role in shaping boys, not just through curriculum, but through how they show up every day
