Rick Hansen School Program
The Rick Hansen School Program is a comprehensive set of FREE resources to teach students about disability, access and inclusion, and empower them to become difference makers in their schools and communities.
These bilingual resources include lesson plans, activities, videos, and books that are easy to incorporate into lessons and subjects already being taught in the classroom. We also provide trained speakers with disabilities to deliver school presentations and connect with students in person or via technology.
Participating teachers and administrators agree that the program makes classrooms and schools more inclusive, decreases bullying, empowers students to create positive change, and raises student awareness of the potential of people with disabilities.

Keynote: Difference Makers: Educating the Next Generation
Difference Makers are leaders by example, catalysts - those whose passion and courage ignite talent and action in others. Their energy empowers them to believe in their own potential and find solutions to barriers.
Through the power of his own story and the inspiration he's found in others, Rick Hansen encourages educators to empower their students to be Difference Makers and global citizens capable of changing the world. Understanding the significance of the support and mentorship he has received throughout his life, Rick is committed to working with educators and young people to support the development of life skills.
As educators, you can unleash the unlimited potential in every student by joining Rick in creating compassionate, engaged and socially responsible leaders. Through the Rick Hansen School Program, Rick and his team raise awareness about inclusion, gratitude and the power of paying it forward in thousands of schools across Canada. The program has been proven to decrease bullying, change perceptions and increase volunteerism within classrooms.
Throughout Rick's presentation, audiences will learn how to inspire students
to be the best that they can be and to believe that anything is possible if they
have the courage to try.
