State Archivist Join Ed Papenfuse on a walking tour of the capital city of Maryland. A charming, vibrant city, Annapolis takes pride in its colonial heritage. Walk along its cobblestone streets as you admire historic buildings built in the mid-1700s. Home to the United States Naval Academy and St. John’s College, a liberal arts college with a history dating to 1696, Annapolis is also a famed center of sailing and boating in the Mid Atlantic. | 1:30 PM | American Visionary Arts Museum Tour Tour the American Visionary Art Museum located in Baltimore's Federal Hill neighborhood. The museum specializes in the preservation and display of outsider art, also known as "intuitive art" or "raw art." The art is created by self-taught individuals, usually without formal training, whose works arise from an innate personal vision that revels foremost in the creative act itself. Congress has designated it as America's national museum for self-taught art. |
