The Use Of Meaningful Student Involvement In Humanities And Social Sciences To Encourage A Deeper Understanding Of Content For Year Five Boys

In October 2017, a cohort of Year Five boys engaged in a seven-week Humanities and Social Sciences unit consisting of seven one-hour sessions. Twenty-five of those boys further participated in our action research project, which was guided by the question, “How might the use of meaningful student involvement encourage a deeper understanding of content for Year Five Boys?” Qualitative data collection methods consisted of interviews, pictorial evidence, and questionnaires.
