Aloud in the Library: Developing Boys' Self-Efficacy in Physics Inquiry with the Think Aloud Protocol

  • Boy Voice and Choice (2019-20)

In this action research project, use of the Think Aloud Protocol (TAP) as a library learning strategy to enhance boys’ self-efficacy was investigated in a Year 10 inquiry unit in Physics. The hope was to help boys become more comfortable with aspects of the research process: self-assessing thinking, normalizing struggle, and building a case for help-seeking as agents of their own learning in the library, a non-classroom thinking environment.
