Bring the Noise! Project-Based Learning to Increase Boys’ Voices in Physical Education

  • Boy Voice and Choice (2019-20)

The purpose of this study was to explore the use of action research as a framework to investigate project-based learning (PBL) as a way of increasing student motivation through increasing student choice in Physical Education (PE). To do so, I taught a badminton unit using a project-based framework with two classes of boys aged 12 to 13 years-old. Data collection methods included: Intrinsic Motivation Inventory (IMI), participant reflections on the lessons and interviews, and research field notes.
