Finding Their Voices: Directed Discussion, Learning Preferences, and Self-Advocacy for Graduating Boys with IEPs

In this action research project, I sought to explore how involving graduating boys with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in directed discussions around learning challenges, strengths, goals and teaching strategies could enhance self-advocacy skills. The IEP process encourages both parent and student participation, but often this occurs only during formalized review periods.
