Mentors
The head of school must supply the name and email of a senior staff member willing to act as a mentor for the researcher. This role proves critical to the success of the researcher. The mentor ensures that all submissions and the final report are formally edited and correctly referenced ahead of publication. The mentor will receive details of the research timetable and regular updates on the researcher’s progress. This person acts as a critical friend in the planning, implementation, and presentation of the project and meets regularly with the researcher to provide assistance or feedback. During the research cycle mentors will submit two brief status reports to team advisors to share the researcher’s progress. For a detailed overview of the mentor position, please read the Role of the Mentor (PDF).
