Ongoing Research: Character Education

The IBSC is currently engaged in research on Character Education, expected to be presented and published in 2018. IBSC Members are invited to view complete Character Education project details.

Nearly 50 IBSC member schools have joined this two-year project which is being led by CIRCLE — the Centre for Innovation, Research, Creativity, and Leadership in Education, based in Sydney.

The project uses a well-researched framework for schools to evaluate current practices, processes, and programs in character education; sharpen strategy and planning for character education; develop meaningful and authentic outcomes; create standards for accountability, reporting, and professional learning; and communicate this focus and consensus to the wider school community.

More information on the benefits of the project, its guiding questions and framework, research methodologies and phases, and background for participating schools is available in the Member Center.
